When does one become just one small particle in the great mass? And can all these small particles still be regarded as individuals? Israel Galván is the Spanish Flamenco scene‘s enfant terrible and one of their most avant-garde artists. Flamenco, a synthesis of differing art forms, has become the figure head of Spanish culture. Together with vocalists, musicians and dancers Galván attempts to deconstruct Flamenco by searching for ways to extend artistic expression beyond folkloristic stereotypes. La Fiesta is a collage of excess, irony, exhaustion and rebellion. La Fiesta is celebration. And battle – against space and time. We show Israel Galván‘s La Fiesta in cooperation with the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart on the exhibiting of Actually, the Dead Are Not Dead series’ third part.
