The little I-am-I

Pillow concert for children aged 3 to 6

Musical storytelling by Elisabeth Naske for children aged 3 to 6
Text by Mira Lobe, concept and illustration by Susi Weigel
Filled with joy about life a small colorful animal strolls over a flowery meadow. Suddenly its peaceful solitude is interrupted by a tree frog. “Who are you?” asks the tree frog. The perplexed little animal is unable to answer the question. Disappointed the nameless creature sets out on a quest for somebody who will be able to tell it what it is. It meets a variety of animals with which it shares certain features: It has blowing hair like a horse, short stomping feet like a rhino, and long ears like a dachshund. Nevertheless, all these animals deny that it is like them. Compassionately, even the rhino has to admit that it doesn’t know what the little creature is called. The little animal feels sad about being just “a little someone”. But suddenly, the answer seems obvious and brings the joy of life and of nature’s diversity back to the little creature…

A pillow concert lasts approx. half an hour. 30 minutes prior to the performance, the children are invited to a handicraft work like painting or cutting out elements that are related to the topic of the concert. Following the concert, the children then have the opportunity to try out the musical instruments they have previously seen and heard for themselves
