Love throws farm labourer Nemorino completely off course. But Adina, the landowner he adores, is completely detached in matters of both, love in general and love towards Nemorino in particular. Unexpectedly, the charismatic Dulcamara appears and offers Nemorino a love potion that should help Nemorino to win Adina's affection. The miraculous potion that is in fact only a bottle of Bordeaux succeeds however in releasing Nemorino's inhibitions in an unexpected way... Director Anika Rutkovsky's production tells the tale of rediscovering magic and fantasy in a disenchanted world. And the young ensemble of singers from the Staatsoper Stuttgart shines on stage!
