Beate Ritter
Beate Ritter, soprano, born in Austria, studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and at the Vienna Conservatory. In 2009, she received the audience award at the "Klassik Mania" competition in Vienna and made her operatic debut at the Theater an der Wien as Yniold in Pélleas et Mélisande. In 2010 she made her debut at the Volksoper Wien as Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), and from 2010 to 2018 she sang there as an ensemble member such roles as Adele in Die Fledermaus, Frasquita in Carmen, Paquette in Candide, Rosina in Der Barbier von Sevilla, Johanna in Sweeney Todd and Belotte in Madame Pompadour. At the Volksoper alone she sang the role of the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte over a hundred times. Opera and concert engagements have taken her to Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Korea and New York. She has also appeared in productions with the Konzertvereinigung Staatsopernchor Wien, including at the Salzburg Festival (for example in Nono's Al gran sole carico d'amore). In 2017 she appeared in the title role of Lakmé at Malmö Opera, and in 2019 as Olympia (Les Contes d'Hoffmann) at the Opéra de Lausanne. Since 2018/19 Beate Ritter has been an ensemble member of the Staatsoper Stuttgart, where she sang Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Gilda (Rigoletto), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos, concertante), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier, concertante) and Adele (Die Fledermaus), among others. In 2022/23 she can be heard as Waldvogel (Siegfried), Sophie (Werther), Angel (Saint François d'Assise) and Amour and La Folie (Platée) at the Staatsoper Stuttgart. In addition, she performs in the 2nd Recital.
