Dear audience,
Where is home? In her search for “music from home“, composer Sara Glojnarić has spent the past few months building up an archive of music(s) from Stuttgart. The result is a new opera about a group of Stuttgart residents and their long journey(s) across generations, nationalities and musical tastes:
Station Paradiso. It is exactly these dividing and uniting boundaries that mark the new productions of this season: From Nina Simone and Frank Sinatra’s
I Did It My Way to Janáček’s
The Cunning Little Vixen and Puccini’s
Turandot, from Poulenc’s
Dialogues des Carmélites to Wagner’s overwhelming and chauvinistic reflection on German art in
Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. I cordially invite you to an opera season that creates connections!
Best wishes
Yours, Viktor Schoner
and the Staatsoper Stuttgart team
