At the end of Jossi Wieler’s time as Opera director in Stuttgart, there will be numerous special events under the name of HIGH SEASON! all throughout July 2018.
In the course of plenty of afternoons we invite you to special concerts and talks at the opera terrace near the Schiller monument in front of the opera house. Join us, celebrate with us, make the month of July to the HIGH SEASON! of your personal opera experience.
On the first of July Jossi Wieler and the chief dramaturg Sergio Morabito start the program with the presentation of the book Verwandlungen that covers the last seven years at the Stuttgart Opera. The same day the world premiere of Toshio Hosokawa’s opera Erdbeben. Träume, which also is the last new production during Jossi Wieler’s directorship, takes place.
As the grand finale and ending of the HIGH SEASON! we invite you to Opera at the lake – a live broadcast from the Stuttgart Opera. On Tuesday July 24 you can enjoy the performance of Vincenzo Bellini’s I Puritani on a LED big screen at the lawn near the Eckensee for free.
On Wednesday July 25 we invite you to join us together with prominent guests for a retrospective on the seven years of Jossi Wieler’s directorship.
