Siegfried

by Richard Wagner
Second day of the stage festival The Ring of the Nibelung in three lifts
in German
The legendary production of the Ring of the Nibelung’s third part by Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito returns to the Stuttgart stage. Siegfried describes the title hero’s youth and the temporary recapture of the Ring, for which the giant Fafner first killed his own brother and then turned himself into a dragon. But Siegfried also describes the hero’s first deeds – including the "awakening" of the wife of his dreams and his aunt Brünnhilde. Once having been condemned to a long and deep sleep by her father, Brünnhilde now teaches Siegfried the hitherto unexperienced emotion of fear! General Music Director Cornelius Meister conducts the new production with a number of long-awaited role debuts in the ensemble.
