Lullabies – not only for children!
Götz Payer about the CD project
The idea for the CD developped during a conversation with Esther Dierkes and Björn Bürger, both soloist singers in Stuttgart and parents of four young children. I was delighted that so many singers from the Staatsoper Stuttgart were eager to participate right away. Everyone involved in the project contributed wonderfully – via their choice of songs, their commitment during the recordings, and their personal and intimate mode of expression that makes each song so special. We also had a whale of a time during the recording sessions, and I was not only able to learn beautiful new songs, but also something new about the various languages and cultures of the singers' home countries. I personally find that the recordings have turned out to be very moving songs and I can definitely recommend them for everybody and any age group!
