The floating locomotion in space as well as the observation of a sunrise from the perspective of an astronaut are among the impressive images that inspired Garth Knox to his string quartet Satellites. It is combined with Benjamin Britten's 2nd String Quartet, a homage to Henry Purcell, and the trio of Armenian composer Aram Chatschaturjan, who transports the audience to the fascinating sound world of his homeland.
