SEASON
2024/25

Dear audience,

Being inspired or abandoned "by all good spirits" is at the heart of our genre. So we have made this phrase the title of the new season - and we look forward to the "good spirits" of this season. Including: nuns in ecstasy and a terrorist whale, a fragile seducer, an obsessive gambler and a loving father who (almost) sacrifices his son - in the coming season, we will meet all these characters and many, many more at the Staatsoper Stuttgart. Will you be there? I look forward to exchanging ideas with you!

Best wishes
Your Viktor Schoner
Artistic Director of the Staatsoper Stuttgart

The New Concert Season – Greeting from Cornelius Meister
Dear audience,

draw from the full, but do not ignore the small treasures, the subtleties and the delicacy:
Mahler’s Eighth with the Staatsopernchor; Bruckner’s Eighth in combination with the Notations by Pierre Boulez, whose centenary will be celebrated in 2025; the world premiere of the latest work by Mischa Tangian, in which members of the Babylon Orchestra Berlin will perform together with the Staatsorchester Stuttgart, as well as the German premiere of Hannah Kendall’s And At Pains To Temper The Light; another symphony cycle over two days, this time with Mendelssohn Bartholdy: the anticipation for works and performers is huge.

Three maestri are making their debut in the Staatsorchester's symphony concert series: Tianyi Lu, David Afkham and Kerem Hasan; Nicola Luisotti’s return, on the other hand, had already been agreed two years ago, while the ovations still resounded through the Liederhalle.

In addition to the established family, chamber, lunch and song concerts, another field has grown recently: programs aimed at hip-hop enthusiasts, rap and pop fans. With us, everyone should find what they are looking for. Because our standard is not to narrow down to one aesthetic direction only, but rather quality, quality, quality.

The musicians of the Staatsorchester and I are looking foward to seeing you!

Yours,
Cornelius Meister
