Climbing skyscrapers unsecured. Taking advantage of the darkness of the night. Going to the limit, to the highest, outermost edge. Hearing your heart pounding in your chest. The flood of adrenaline gripping your entire body. What draws the nameless roofer? Is it only the forbidden that excites him? Or is there something more? Is he driven, like Icarus in Greek myth, by the longing to be able to fly?
The opera Icaro is a sensual experience of boundaries, in the mind, in the body, in our one and only life - an immersive experience between light and dark, between electronic clouds of sound and virtuoso singing, between ancient material and contemporary trends - described by the Ludwigsburger Kreiszeitung as "a densely packed and highly exciting exploration of an urban mythology of contemporary culture, without any added moralizing".
The performance uses complete darkness and strong visual and acoustic stimuli. Stroboscopic effects are used.
