How do I find my own language?

What can I do if something doesn't suit me? How can I name the injustices that I experience? How can I formulate my resistance - in a playful, artistic and perhaps even danceable way? How can I find a message? How do I create poetic images? How do I combine words with music?
The Kornwestheimberlin rapper and music producer Maeckes invites you to a lyrics workshop at JOiN.

In a group with a maximum of 12 participants, the aim is to improve or find your own lyric writing skills. You can work on texts you have brought with you or create new texts. Of course, you should also perform your texts at the end! And if you would like to experience Maeckes with your own text on the opera stage, you can see the performance of Der rote Wal on July 20, for just 10 €.

If you are between 15 and 20 years old, you can apply. Send us a short text (max. 400 words) to dramaturgie@staatstheater-stuttgart.de by June 20, 2024 that deals with injustice or in which you describe what you are fighting for. The text can be a poem, a song or a story. You can send it as text or as a spoken word contribution via video or link. The texts can be in German or English.
