Youkali - this is the name of a fictitious island of the peaceful, where all the world's persecuted and displaced people could one day find refuge. A kind of utopia that Kurt Weill created in his 1934 chanson of the same name while fleeing from the National Socialists and which is the melancholy center of this special song recital.
