Dein Oxy

Musical Theatre Piece
I am a mother. I am not a mother. I am breastfeeding. I am silent. I am loud. And breasts fly around in my universe...
Why are people assigned an “original” role as mother or father? And why do some people claim that a person's purpose is only fulfilled when they fulfill this fixed role? Between contemporary chamber music and a fragile choir, Lisa Florentine Schmalz and her 12-member team negotiate the question of who decides what roles people take on as (non-)mothers in society and what this really has to do with hunters and gatherers.
What influence does the bonding hormone oxytocin have on our bodies and our interactions? Does this impressive chemical compound control our behavior? Or is it us who control the hormones?
The performers approach these big questions with classical vocals and sprawling monologues, on piano and with clarinet. And we can reveal: With or without breasts - cuddling helps your oxytocin and society!
