The explosive sonics of divinity

by Ragnar Kjartansson and Kjartan Sveinsson
Opera in four acts by Ragnar Kjartansson and Kjartan Sveinsson
A production of the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz

In german
A visually powerful evening between concert, theatre and visual art: composer Kjartan Sveinsson and visual artist Ragnar Kjartansson have jointly developed the acclaimed "opera in four parts" of The Sound of Divine Revelation, which is now finally performed on the Stuttgart stage. Ragnar Kjartansson has already become familiar to the audience by his celebrated exhibition Scheize - Liebe - Sehnsucht at Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. Special feature of that project: While the orchestra pit is full with singers and musicians, there are no performers on stage. Instead, the stage is taken over by hypnotically beautiful stage sets that seek to bring the sound of the divine revelation to life. What remains in the end: the essence – pure emotion.
