Mark Andre

wunderzaichen

Mark Andre Opera in four situations (2008-2014) In a version revised by the composer for the revival
Mark Andre’s music emerges between sound and silence, noise and harmony, reality and metaphysics. His composition wunderzaichen, first performed in Stuttgart in 2014, crosses the lines between drama, opera and choral and instrumental phantasy and, by the use of live electronics, opens up new resonant cavities. It is a musical road trip which takes the humanist Johanne Reuchlin of Pforzheim to the airport Ben Gurion. Since his heart transplantation Johannes has “another man’s heart” in his chest. He comes to Israel to get to know the country whose language he has been studying for many years. But at the passport control he behaves suspiciously.
